Sapporo Snow Festival (Past Event)

February 4-11, 2025

Experience Sapporo's most famous winter event, the Sapporo Snow Festival. Highlights include big snow statues at Odori Site (e.g., 'That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime' at 4-chome, 'The Former Hokkaido Government Office' at 7-chome, and a Snow Man idol group statue at 10-chome), 60 elaborate ice sculptures at Susukino Site lit up from sunset to 11 p.m. (10 p.m. on the last day), and family-friendly snow slides and rafts at Tsudome Site.

Guinness Challenge: Curry Bread Sale (Past Event)

February 8, 2025

A bakery attempts to set a Guinness World Record by selling 10,000 curry breads in eight hours during the Sapporo Snow Festival. Enjoy a set of smoked scallop curry bread and beef curry bread for ¥1,000 at Odori Park 8-chome.

Winter Puppet Show Festival (Past Event)

February 8-9, 15-16, 2025

Enjoy the puppet show 'Hakkushon shiteyo, Kaba-kun' (It's OK to Sneeze, Hippo) at the Winter Puppet Show Festival, held over two weekends at Yamabiko-za and Sapporo Education and Culture Hall. Mini concerts follow each performance. Showtimes are 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Tickets: ¥1,500 for ages 3 and over.

Mt. Moere Sledding Competition (Past Event)

February 9, 2025

The 13th Mt. Moere Sledding Competition features about 100 teams sliding down a 120-meter course on homemade cardboard sleds, competing for the fastest time. Open from 8:30 a.m., with the event running from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

FIS Ski Jumping World Cup (Past Event)

February 15-16, 2025

Witness top athletes compete at the FIS Ski Jumping World Cup at Okurayama Ski Jump Stadium, featuring a 137-meter big hill. Men's competition on Feb 15 (gates open 12:30 p.m., main event 3:10 p.m.) and Feb 16 (gates open 8:30 a.m., main event 11 a.m.). Tickets: ¥1,000-¥5,000, free for junior high and under. Hina Dolls at Shiryo-kan (Past Event)
